Proposed New Worship Center

In response to the growing needs in our community and church, the New Construction Committee has met with the Church Architecture Department of LifeWay to develop conceptual plans for a new Worship Center for UBC.

It will be located in front of our current buildings and become the main focus of UBC’s campus.  The appearance of the exterior and other renderings will be adjusted as we move beyond the conceptual stage into the final plans.

The Worship Center includes a covered drop-off into the lobby providing access to the main auditorium.

There will be seating for 800 – 1000 worshippers.  The choir will hold about 80 with room on the platform for instruments and worship leaders.

The baptistry is located just to the right of the platform allowing family and friends to participate in baptisms more directly.

Seating sections on the sides of the auditorium provide access to the balcony through stair-stepped seating.

The lobby opens to a receiving area in the rear of the building, where hospitality services for guests and helpful communication centers for ministry support will be available. 

Restrooms just off the lobby and hospitality area will be available for men and women.

Stairs on the north and south of the lobby provide access to the balcony lobby area.  The audio and video controls will be located in this area as well as entrance to the balcony seating.

Parking will surround the buildings allowing close proximity to any building members and guests desire to enter. 

The Auditorium will have easy access from all education buildings. 

The old Worship Center will be redesigned for youth education.  The configuration of the other buildings will not change.

The recreation court will  remain beside the playground and an area for an Upward Football field is included in the initial design.
