joyfully making disciples

24 Series Devotionals - Day 69

The Security of the Father's Name (Cont.)

In John 17:11, Jesus prays for his disciples that the Father would keep them in the Father's name.  Our security in this life and certianly in the next depends on the character and nature of God, not on our conduct or our character.

God's name:
  • Is there anything too difficult for Elohim, Creator of the ends of the earth?
  • Is there anyone greater than the Most High God?
  • Does anything in your life escape the notice of The God Who Sees?
  • Is there any need that cannot be met by El-Shaddai, the All-Sufficient One?
  • Can any enemy command Adonai, the Lord?
  • Do you have any shortage that Jehovah Jireh cannot meet?  The Lord will provide.
  • Is there any disease that Jehovah-Rapha (the God who heals) cannot heal?
  • Is there any conflict too great for Jehovah Shalom )my peace)?
  • Is there any sin too deep that Jehovah Tsidkenu (my righteousness) cannot forgive?
  • Is there any valley through which Jehovah Raah (my shepherd) cannot lead?
Jesus prayed, "Father, keep them in Thy name."  (Verse 11)  All of these names and more declare the nature of God.  He will keep you in His name.  Forever.
